Germany manager Joachim Löw has confirmed that his side will play their first Confederations Cup game against Austrlia with Leverkusen’s Bernd Leno in goal on Monday (17:00 CEST). “Bernd Leno will play in goal against Australia,” said Löw.
Löw has already promised to give playing time to all three of his goalkeepers. Kevin Trapp started the friendly in advance of the tournament against Denmark (1-1) in Copenhagen, which was his Germany debut, whilst Marc-Andre ter Stegen of FC Barcelona was between the posts for Germany’s 7-0 win in the World Cup qualifier against San Marino in Nuremberg.
