Löw: "It was important to keep a clean sheet"

The Germany national team head to EURO 2016 in France (10th June-10th July) on the back of a 2-0 win over Hungary. DFB.de has rounded up all the reaction to the match:

Head coach Joachim Löw: It was important to keep a clean sheet. The win gives us stability and a good feeling for next week. Schweinsteiger obviously hasn’t got his rhythm yet, we’ll have to wait and see about Hummels. Sami Khedira’s substitution was just a precautionary measure.

Jerome Boateng: We started very well and kept the ball moving, but perhaps held on to it too long. We gave the ball away too much in the second half, but overall were good. I believe we can be satisfied, we played better than last time.

Bastian Schweinsteiger: 25 to 30 minutes has done me good. But 90 minutes is too much for the first game. I am fitter going into the Euros than I was two years ago going into the World Cup.

Toni Kroos: It was a good test. We moved the ball around well and gave little away.

Bernd Storck (Hungary coach): We tried hard to play from the back. Obviously it was tough to play against such a tough opponent. We knew we would be put under pressure. We gave our best and gave a good account of ourselves. Our strengths are our defensive compactness. We will do the same against Austria.
