Lahm operation successful

On Thursday, World Champion Philipp Lahm, from German Champions FC Bayern München, was successfully operated on. A plate and a screw were put into his fractured right ankle to hold it in place. Lahm will spend a few more days in hospital. He must then rest the foot for a few more weeks before he can begin his rehab training with the German record holders.

The 31-year-old picked up the bad injury during training on Tuesday. Lahm should be back available again in February.
