Hannover snap up U21 international Klaus

Hannover 96 have signed Germany U21 international Felix Klaus from relegated SC Freiburg. The 22-year-old, who was a member of the Germany squad at the U21 European Championships in the Czech Republic, has signed a contract with the Reds until summer 2019. Klaus becomes the fourth arrival at Hannover this summer, after goalkeeper Philipp Tschauner (FC St. Pauli), defender Oliver Sorg (also from Freiburg) and striker Charlison Benschop (Fortuna Düsseldorf). The transfer fee remains undisclosed.

"In our talks with the player we highlighted our desire to build a young squad. He’s the right man to inject our team with some quality," said sporting director Dirk Dufner. Klaus made 52 Bundesliga appearances for SC Freiburg in the last two seasons, scoring seven goals. Due to his involvement in the U21 European Championships, Klaus will join up with his new Hannover teammates on 16th July.
