Germany to play on 15th November in Italy

The Germany national team will finish 2016 with a classic encounter. Joachim Löw’s side will face off against Italy on 15th November – the venue has not yet been confirmed. Oliver Bierhoff gave his thoughts on the match: “We want to compete against the best in the world in order to continue improving. Italy is one of the great footballing nations and these are the kind of matches that the fans want to see. I am very happy that we will be able to face them in a ‘rematch’ following the encounter in March this year.”

The two teams clashed in Munich on 29th March and four-time World Champions Germany won 4-1. The fixture in Italy will follow the World Cup qualifier against San Marino on 11th November. As well as San Marino, Germany will face Czech Republic, Norway, Northern Ireland and Azerbaijan in the qualifiers for the 2018 tournament in Russia. Die Mannschaft will begin their qualifying campaign on 4th September with a trip to Norway.
