Germany lose 2-0 in France

Germany have lost their first friendly following their successful qualification for the 2016 European Championship. In a fairly balanced game in the Stade de France, Joachim Löw’s side were beaten 2-0 by the hosts of next summer’s tournament. Olivier Giroud put France ahead on the stroke of half time, before a late goal from André-Pierre Gignac wrapped up the victory for Didier Deschamps’ side.

Thomas Müller and returnee Mario Gomez had chances to put Die Mannschaft ahead in the first half, but neither were able to force a save out of Hugo Lloris. Müller also hit the post in the 77th minute with the score still at 1-0. Leroy Sané was also handed his senior Germany debut.
