Reigning Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint Germain have won the 91st Le Classique convincingly. Die Mannschaft attacker Julian Draxler and his teammates triumphed 5-1 over arch rivals OIympique Marseille, with the German getting on the scoresheet just five minutes after coming off the bench in the 56th minute.

With former Frankfurt goalkeeper Kevin Trapp between the sticks, the team from the French capital remain second place with 59 points, three points behind AS Monaco. The other PSG goals came from Marquinhos (6’), Edinson Cavani (16’), Lucas (50’) and Blaise Matuidi (73’), while Rod Fanni scored a consolation for Marseille in the 70th minute.

Real Madrid stay top after close shave

Real Madrid and World Champion Toni Kroos have retaken top spot in La Liga, just hours after Marc Andre ter Stegen’s Barcelona had gone top. Los Blancos had to come from behind against Villarreal, as Zinedine Zidane’s men found themselves 2-0 down after 56 minutes. However, the reigning champions of Europe showed their class, turning the match around through Gareth Bale (64’), Cristiano Ronaldo (74’) and Alvaro Morata (83’).

Real now boast a two-point lead over Barca and still have an all-important game in hand.

Rüdiger's Roma win at San Siro

In the Sunday night Serie A match, Germany international Antonio Rüdiger’s AS Roma faced Inter Milan at San Siro. The Romans won 3-1 thanks to two spectacular Radja Nainggolan strikes in each half and and a late Diego Perotti penalty. Rüdiger started on the right of a back three, and helped his side take three points away from a tough stadium. The victory means Luciano Spaletti's men remain the leaders of the chasing pack (59 points) behind table toppers and reigning champions Juventus (66).

Nainggolan opened the scoring in style in the 12th minute, curling the ball with his right foot into the far corner from the edge of the box. He doubled the Giallorossi’s advantage ten minutes after the break with another fabulous effort – thumping the ball past Samir Handanovic from 25 yards. In truth, it had been quite an even game until this point, and Inter got their reward for their persistence in the 81st minute. Captain Mauro latched onto former BVB and Wolfsburg man Ivan Perisic’s cross to set up a tense final stage. However, the visitors were given a penalty just four minutes after Icardi had pulled one back, and Diego Perotti dispatched the resulting spot kick incredibly coolly.
