Germany U20s coach Maren Meinert has dealt a good hand at the second round of the Women’s DFB cup. The World Cup winner from 2003 drew newly promoted Duisburg against the holders Bayern in Frankfurt in what is set to be the highlight of the round.
Along with this fixture, the weekend of the 26th and 27th September will also see Borussia Mönchengladbach, from the second division, take on rivals Köln. Title winners Wolfsburg will meet Billerbeck of the Westfalenliga. Record cup winners FFC Frankfurt will play Polizei-SV Freiburg.
The seven Women’s Bundesliga teams who were not involved in the first round of the cup will now take part. The teams were split into two regional pots. Altogether, 32 teams will take part in this round of the cup.
The cup final will be played at the RheinEnergieStadion in Cologne on the 21st May 2016.
