BVB come from behind against Bayern to book final spot

Ousmane Demélé completed a sensational comeback for Borussia Dortmund as they beat Bayern München to progress into the DFB-Pokal final. The Frenchman crowned an impressive turnaround for BVB with the 74th minute winner in the 3-2 victory, despite his side trailing 2-1 at the break.

Dortmund now have the chance to claim their fourth DFB-Pokal win when they face Eintracht Frankfurt in Berlin on 27th May. Despite their semi-final exit, FC Bayern remain on course to seal a 27th Bundesliga crown.

Marco Reus fired BVB ahead in the 19th minute following a defensive error by Javi Martinez. The Spaniard made up for his error just nine minutes later, however, when he headed in the equaliser for Bayern, who quickly followed up with a second through Mats Hummels.

Bayern throw away lead late on

Robert Lewandowksi had two big chances to extend Bayern’s lead either side of the break, but Roman Bürki denied him on each occasion. Arjen Robben also came close midway through the second half, before BVB eventually grabbed the equaliser shortly after Hummels was substituted in the 63rd minute; Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang heading in from Dembélé’s cross. Just five minutes later, the Frenchman scored a goal of his own, curling delightfully with his left foot into the top corner.
